Hotels near San Carlos
There are two different Hotels that I am including in this list that are not within the city of San Carlos. To get to these hotels you must take a boat, as they are on the lake, on the opposite side of the San Juan River. One operates more as an ecolodge, the other more as a fishing lodge. Both are special and unique and worth mentioning.
La Esquina del Lago

La Esquina del Lago is on the opposite side of the Rio San Juan from San Carlos. This means that the only way to get there is by boat. This is a fishing lodge offering some of the best fishing in the World! Alternatives include Lake Nicaragua, San Juan River and the Rio Frio. Although close to San Carlos, it is a World Away! If you want to disconnect from the world and simply fish, this is where you want to go! This is a small lodge with only 6 rooms. Ideal for a getaway with your fishing buddies! They offer an all inclusive deal that includes meals, lodging and of course, fishing!
Los Guatuzos
Located in the Los Guatuzos nature reserve, this eco lodge is a couple of hours from San Carlos on a boat along Lake Nicaragua. Los Guatuzos offers rustic accommodations within a tropical jungle and wetland. Service at the lodge includes meals and tours of the area.
