Kaoma

Kaoma is one of the best restautants in San Carlos.

Without doubt the best restaurant in San Carlos! Located right on the boardwalk park, this establishment offers pleasant views of lovely Lake Cocibolca and the San Juan River. Their specialty is river shrimp and fresh fish from the lake, but the menu includes a variety of beef, chicken and pork dishes. They also feature the most complete bar in town. Although it is the priciest eatery in town, prices are extremely reasonable by international standards. Service is outstanding. Credit cards are accepted. Open daily for lunch and dinner from 10:00 A.M. till 10:00 P.M. There is a disco bar below the restaurant that operates on weekends.

El Granadino.

This is the another one of the famous restaurants in San Carlos, located in a privileged spot with a great view of the lake. Menu includes more affordable “executive dishes” as well as the regular menu. Seafood, fish, beef and chicken are all part of the menu. A good selection of liquors at the bar is available to the guest. Very spacious setting.

El Mirador

Located in the ruins of an old fortress, El Mirador offers a nice informal setting with a nice view of the lake. Menu is more limited, but prices are very affordable. This restaurant is popular for groups. Open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Bar only serves beer. Parador Berlin

A relatively new addition to town, this restaurant is German owned, and therefore, German, as well as Spanish is spoken on the premises. Restaurant is open daily from 11:00 A.M. till midnight, with food orders taken till 11:00 P.M. Menu includes typical German dishes, but specialty is pizza. Full international bar service. Don Leo

Located at the Cabinas Leyco Hotel, this restaurant is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Very reasonable prices and a typical Nicaraguan cuisine. They also offer a full international bar service. This is a good spot to get information on the Esperanza Verde Reserve. Certainly one of the best options for typical Nicaraguan food restaurants in San Carlos.

 La Criollita del Lago Soda

In Nicaragua, a soda is a local eatery usually serving typical Nicaraguan cuisine. This soda is located right on the boardwalk park, and offers an informal setting with great hygienic home made food. Menu changes daily and is always great. They always have a variety of fresh fruits, so take advantage and try some of the local Central American tropical fruits. They do not serve alcoholic beverages at this establishment. This is one of the most affordable options for restaurants in San Carlos, Rio San Juan.

Rincon Carleño

Located half a block behind the local hospital, this restaurant offers typical Nicaraguan food. Open daily except on Sundays for lunch and dinner from 11:00 A.M. till 9:00 P.M. Bar serves only rum and beer.

In addition, there are two kiosks at the boardwalk park that offer a variety of basic foods. These are always a good option, especially if you are waiting for a boat to catch.
